Junior Club Championship 2026

Congratulations to Karl Hutchinson, who won our Junior Club Championship on the Burnside at the weekend against Seb Clark. Fantastic golf from both players with never more than 2 shots between them. It took a birdie on the 18th by Karl to force a playoff, then a further 4 holes before clinching the win. Great to see these lads shining in our competitions.

The Alex Oetegenn Cup 2026

Despite wet and windy conditions on The Buddon today our Juniors produced some marvellous golf in The Alex Oetegenn handicap cup.

Well done to James Goudie (11th birthday in a few days) with a winning score of net 70. Coming in second with a net 74 was Carl Hutchinson, while Seb Clark finished with a net 77 and Jamie MacIntosh a net 83.

The Alex Oetegenn Cup 2025

This years Alex Oetegenn Cup final was contested by Jamie MacIntosh, Carl Hutchinson and Jamie West on The Burnside.

Teeing off in bright sunshine, then the wind got up half way round, followed by showers, it was typical weather for Carnoustie.

It was to be Jamie Wests day thought, shooting a very nice net 62 to take the title. Another close second for Jamie MacIntosh, with Carl coming third.

This years Junior Club Championship final was played on The Burnside between Carl Hutchinson and Jamie Macintosh.

The blustery weather proved quite a challenge for these young golfers, but both coped well with the conditions. This was a tight match with Carl just edging it at the end to take the title for the second time. A fantastic effort from Jamie, who will undoubtably see success in future events.

This was followed by another win for Adam in The Alex Oetegenn Cup a week later. Narrowly beating Carl once more, but it went to a count back after both players finished with a nett 74.

The club are proud to announce the inaugural winner of our new Junior handicap competition is Adam Laidlaw. With a special mention to the other finalists, Carl Hutchinson (2nd) and Jamie West (3rd).

The players were met at the end of the match by The Carnoustie Links Management Committee Chairman Colin Yule, who presented the cup.

We were also delighted by a visit from cup sponsor Fiona Oetegenn a fews days later for a meal and presentation in The Rookery.
